Keystone Business Valuations is a business valuation firm in Ontario.  We specialize in business valuations, family law support, litigation support and advisory services.

Our Principal

Steve Skrlac, B.A. (Econ), MBA, CFA, CBV

With more than 15 years of experience in business valuation, pricing, business transactions, investment analysis and operations, Steve Skrlac has the practical and educational background to deliver valuation reports that you can have confidence in. 

Steve's strength is in advising his clients on business valuation.  He has valued hundreds of businesses of various sizes and industries across Ontario.  Steve also has many years of practical transaction advisory experience - assisting clients on how to acquire or divest of their privately-held business. He has also previously worked for a major international consulting firm, advising on corporate value measurement and derivative valuation (stock options).

Steve Skrlac received his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from the University of Windsor. He is also a Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators (CICBV) and he adheres to its code of ethics.  Steve distinguished himself in the CBV program by achieving the highest mark in Canada on two of the four required valuation courses.  Steve Skrlac also holds the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts (ICFA) and adheres to its code of ethics.   Steve is also trained in the Collaborative divorce process.  Steve has lectured on business valuation and related topics.  He has been featured in a Globe & Mail article about business valuation. 

Steve is happily married and the proud father of 2 boys.  He is a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus and is active in his community and charitable organizations. Steve is also a proud supporter of the Nature Conservancy of Canada and the Royal Ontario Museum.

Tom McLeod, B.A.(Econ)

Tom McLeod has years of experience at Keystone with the preparation of opinions of price for the purpose of bringing businesses to market.  Tom McLeod also has a strong background in facilitating M&A transactions.

Tom has a degree in Economics and 30 years of business experience which includes experience in the financial services industry and executive level corporate management.  Tom prides himself on providing his clients with professional services with the highest standards or integrity and ethics.  Tom is an avid golfer and is engaged in his community through his participation in local service groups.

Norm Sobel, B.Eng

Norm Sobel's professional background and experience has been in manufacturing, import, distribution and services.  He has been with Keystone for many years, assisting companies and shareholders.  Norm has transaction experience in a variety of industries.  He has over 26 years of experience in owning, building, acquiring, and exiting several businesses which has given him the experience and expertise required to help you. 

Norm has a strong background in facilitating M&A transactions and identifying areas which can help a company improve.
